The way I see it people are scandalized because obviously foreign women must have been manipulated to marry a rich white american. They're weak, dumb things so it's unrhinkable they could actually love the dude. It's just that he's abusing his irresistible american-ness to force a young, naive latina to think she loves him. Poor, silly little impressionable brown girl.

I'm actually quite impressed with Bernie Sanders precisely for this reason. I'm pretty much on the other side of the spectrum on most of his economic views, but god damn I can respect the way he campaigns.
Yeah, there was a bunch of "John Kerry and his foreign wife" smears back in '04, I have no idea why this should be an issue beyond knee-jerk xenaphobia. Jeb Bush or whomever else should be free to marry whoever they choose and it shouldn't be slighted against them. Im far more interested in their sides on the issue (given with Jeb that's where the geniune negatives kicks in).
