Beautifully comfortable and listenable. Every song is it's own timeless gem. I'm amazed I haven't heard any other Joni Mitchell, on reflection.

A Case Of You is a rare example of a perfect song. The lyrics don't make much sense but fuck that who even cares?

I remember I listened to this album for the first time a few weeks before I saw The Kids Are Alright and I started geeking out so hard at the dinner scene.

I partially agree but the parts that do make sense are just gorgeous:

"I remember that time you told me you said
"Love is touching souls"
Surely you touched mine
'Cause part of you pours out of me
In these lines from time to time "

Anyway, this used to be my favorite album. It's probably still one of my five favorite but as others have said it's just a super heartfelt and sincere listen. I love her stream of consciousness style, especially on the final track. Not really much more to say other than it's perfect and that the title track, River, and The Last Time I Saw Richard are all incredible.

Probably my least favorite of her big albums. I feel like she developed her sound a lot more with subsequent releases and incorporated a lot more interesting influences. This is still a pretty good album though and a few of her best songs are on here.
