It depends on how much you want to blur the lines between jazz, classical (i.e. minimalism), and rock, but here are some favorites that I've been enjoying the past few months that are well respected within their niche as well.
Chicago Underground Duo - Boca Negra (try Galactic Parables vol. 1 if you want some good jazz from Mazurek from this year; Mazurek is another giant who mostly puts out good stuff)
