Not as good as The College Dropout and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but still def' a classic. Just goes to show what a great artist he is.

This is my favourite Kanye West album. The production is lush and classy, the features and samples are on point and perfectly placed, and it takes the themes from The College Dropout and expands upon them. Plus, it holds a really strong personal and nostalgic resonance with me. The College Dropout and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy are probably better albums culturally, but Late Registration is my defining Kanye moment.

What I said about a year ago about it:
Much better than The College Dropout, IMO. Could have been rated much higher if it weren't for lots of filler. Very good tracks:

Heard 'EmSay
Touch the Sky
Gold Digger
Crack Music
Roses
Diamonds From Sierra Leone
Hey Mama
Gone
And the skits didn't suck that bad.

Was spiralling through the stratosphere woth this and "Graduation". Has been steadily plummeting towards earth since. Being sucked up into the Kardashian circus will finish him as a major artist if he's not careful.

Golly... No hip hop album sounds like this. It's a luxurious, dynamic work with no shortage of brilliance. Everything one could want from an album is here. Great production. Great songwriting. Genre variety. Introspection. Humor. Wit. Everything here is amazing.

Track picks
3. Touch The Sky (Feat. Lupe Fiasco)
4. Gold Digger (Feat. Jamie Foxx)
11. Addiction
13. Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Remix) (Feat. Jay-Z)
16. Hey Mama
19. Gone

Definitely my favorite Kanye West album. I agree with Pitchfork, it's an imperfect masterpiece - and sometimes I prefer imperfect to perfect. And this is one example (this > MBDTF)
The entire album is superb, enjoyable, and relatable. It has inspired so many artists today, and it has inspired me too with daily things.
Fav tracks:

(I was going to say the entire thing, but for the most played ones):

Touch The Sky
Drive Slow
Roses
Addiction
Diamonds From Sierra Lione
Gone

This album manages to be pretty interesting despite being pretty long with more than a few skits which just proves the quality of the songs is at very high level.
I'm not the biggest rap fan, and I guess that's why I like Kanye more than most rappers, his albums are always musically interesting and do not tend to get monotonous and repetitive like many other rap albums.
