Finally got over to visit 'Vinyl Lounge' over in Mansfield. Really nice shop which along with new pressings has a very well stocked 2nd hand selection. It's probably about 50/50 actually and like many new shops sells coffee and cakes and stuff.
Yeah all the new ones are branching out. Visited a new record shop today inside a bric-a-brac shop on an industrial estate near Maidenhead. Nothing special although have a feeling they've got some hidden gems under the French road signs. There's a shop just set back from the seafront at Portsmouth/Southsea that sells records and... pies.
I bought some stuff over the weekend, but nothing terribly exciting, apart from a first UK press of:
Along with a Skatalites compy on Soul Jazz (superb), some 10" record dedicated to an abandoned seaside town in Dorset and the new Terry. Oh, and this for cheap too now I come to think of it:

ok, bought my first vinyl record in about 6 years!!! Which is crazy since I have a collection of 1,000s of vinyl currently at my wife's house. Will slowly bring them back home. Should be fun.
Anyways, the recent purchases (which I got online because I'm big fat cheater) are...
AND, it's insane how much better vinyl sounds better than streaming! I'm not kidding. It's like at least an order of a magnitude better. Seriously! I've been solely streaming for like 6 years so was blown away by the difference. I've got a great sound system though which I will showoff once I figure out how to use ... Was it phototbucket? lol. I forget already. lol.

Jolly good. I've been eyeing up that Donovan album for a while now but trying to get it at a decent price with the box intact and all the inserts and stuff isn't easy.

Totally. The seller said it had the inserts, had even "frigging" pictures of the inserts, but he shipped me something completely different. Different label & everything from the pics. Still sounds awesome though even though it's just in fair - good condition as opposed to the "like new" & "collectable" description he gave. I was wondering why I was able to get it so cheap relatively. lol. Still pretty stoked to have it but a marketer should never set expectations too high. The buyer will just be disappointed. It's marketing 101 really.
