Her Wallpaper Reverie by The Apples in Stereo

I listen to this whole album on Halloween. Must be the toy piano.

Off the top of my head without much thought

Release The Bats - The Birthday Party
Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) - Concrete Blonde
Blood - City Calm Down
Zombies - Childish Gambino
Wolf Like Me - TV On The Radio
Frankie Teardrop - Suicide
Carrion Flowers - Chelsea Wolfe
Grimly Fiendish - The Damned

and it's already been mentioned but Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus is a must on every Halloween playlist!

Of course, this one.

Every Day is Halloween. Ministry

Thou shalt include Nightmare before Christmas. Or not, actually you don't have to at all, but that's my favorite Halloween music.

Oh you mean real music.

Well then possibly this album:

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath

And then Riders on the Storm.

Probably only music to really take me somewhere dark.

Most music meant to be dark I just laugh at (Slayer).

Me too kind of, but rather than laugh AT it I tend to laugh with it. Heh heh

here's another one too. Zombie Birdhouse by Iggy Pop

In honor of It being so popular, here is some good music that is supposed to be sung by a clown character;

and Baba Yaga, a witch

Oooh... I love Pictures at an Exhibition. Didn't know that "picture" was of a witch. The concept I knew was he went to a French Exhibition and it made such an impression on him he wrote music to match each piece... or something. I'm not saying I actually know anything - just that's what I heard. Thanks mate.

Also DBZ loves the clown piece by the french poet and Schoenberg. I love the lyrics. The music itself is a bit... well... not enjoyable to me. Atonal music and Free Jazz... I'm glad they have a place in someone's heart. I just can't bring myself to "love it". I can appreciate the art forms, but it just doesn't meld well with my humanity. I definitely would watch a performance of it, but just putting it on my headphones or travelling with it in a car somewhere... or keeping it in theme with this post... that'd totally kill your Halloween party.

I suppose another Mussorgsky piece comes to mind:

Skeletons. Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Skeleton Song. Sevendust
Skeleton Kiss. Christian death

Also I suppose we can thank paganism for Halloween, right? (This is debatable according to people who claim to know things).

So why not pagan music?
