Ok - so here's a list... I like it. It's basically electronic music (even if not 100% the purist view of it) I already liked... but I feel I'd be not honestly voting if I just googled good electronic albums, listened to them once and said, yeah, I guess that one... hehe. I put the bordering not "true" electronic music a the bottom of my list as to give them less points... even if Massive Attack might be my favorite...

Feel free to critique it...

1

Elektronische Musik (Etude; Studie I; S...tockhausen

2

Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks by Brian Eno

3

The Man-Machine by Kraftwerk

4 (I prefer the original movie version slightly, but this is a decent comp of various artists/remixes)

Tron: Legacy Reconfigured by Daft Punk

5

Trickfinger II by Trickfinger

6

Sound Of Silver by LCD Soundsystem

7

Dummy by Portishead

8

Mezzanine by Massive Attack

9

Oxygรจne by Jean Michel Jarre

10

Debut by Bjรถrk

have you heard Dienstag aus Licht and Oktophonie? From a much later period in Stockhausen's career but like it's a cool look at where he went with electronic experiments decades after the stuff on Elektronische Musik, feel like you might dig

Pink Floyd were definitely not the first to popularize electronics. First off you could argue that the theremin was pretty popular in its time, and if not that then remember that Doctor Who with it's electronic theme music predates DSOTM, and obviously that was immensely popular

honestly there are plenty more examples from as far back as the 1900s I could list but those are some of the bigger ones at least from a cultural popularity standpoint I reckon

I definitely see this especially when bring in vocal manipulation technology started in the early 20th century before the concrete tools of the talkbox, vocoder and autotune were brought into the fold.

Oh wow - I totally missed this.

Yeah- I could see Dr. Who totally being the first "household name" bringing electronic music to the masses.

not to mention that theme is str8 fire ๐Ÿ˜‰

never forget Delia Derbyshire of The BBC Radiophonic Workshop later went on to be lend her talents to this psychedelic electronic masterstroke

An Electric Storm by White Noise

and of course the workshop's founder Daphne Oram is also responsible for some truly remarkable innovations in the art of bleep bloops

That's rad:
Oram's composition machine consisted of a large rectangular metal frame, providing a table-like surface traversed by ten synchronised strips of clear, sprocketed 35mm film. The musician drew shapes on the film to create a mask, which modulated the light received by photocells. Although the output from the machine was monophonic, the sounds could be added to multitrack tapes to provide more texture.

Also I remember giving that album a spin a long time ago and never came back to it, but remember liking it...

I'll get to that after this one:

Persian Surgery Dervishes by Terry Riley

Just from going through the youtube comments on the album stream video I saw a comment that mentioned 'On the Run". Which has nothing to do with this album (except for repetition and minimalism) but it goes to show the impact that it has I guess.
