A criminally underrated britpop album. I won't go as far as saying I love it as much as either Suede or Oasis' first 2 albums, but I do think it's on par with Different Class, Modern Life Is Rubbish and Parklife. "Alright" is the most popular song, but the other 12 tracks are also great. My personal favourites are "Caught By The Fuzz", "Lose It", "Time", and "Sofa (Of My Lethurgy)"/"Time To Go".

Would Supergrass be considered The Kinks of the Britpop era?

Blur always got the most Kinks comparisons at the time, but Supergrass were the most raucous sounding britpop band so I think I get where you are coming from.
Supergrass must be the most universally popular britpop band. I've never met a hater of this band. Sweet album, could be higher.

Great album. Brings back many happy memories of finishing Sixth Form College one long hot summer in the 90's and just about to go off to Uni. You were right, Michael in saying that this is a raucous album, it's a whole lot of fun. It will always remind me of summertime. I am going to go off and play it before this summer comes to an end. (Or has it already?)

Fantastic britpop album with many influences : post punk mainly, but also some 70's influences: the long melancholic ending of Sofa (Of My Lethargy) followed by by the lovely Brian Wilson-like closer song Time to Go. Hints of Supertramp also (strangely they never mentioned that in interviews): Lose It, She's So Loose, the intro of Strange Ones.
Favorite tracks : Alright, Time to Go
Least favorite : Lenny (which was a hit !)
