And luckily it was a perfect album for me, because I am a BIG fan of The Magnetic Fields, and this record has been on my to-do list for a while. The Magnetic Fields made at least four stone-cold classics, but my favorite of theirs is The Wayward Bus, the final album before Stephen Merritt took over the majority of the vocals. This is a great record for people who love that album, because once more you get Merritt's excellent songwriting with better voices handling the lion's share of the vocals. This was honestly everything I could have hoped for, and it is unjust that it doesn't get more attention. Not a bad song in the lot, and tons of amazing ones. 4.5/5 and it will be a great addition to my indie/jangle/twee list.
It is this album from 1994. Amplified Heart by Everything But The Girl.
Actually I thought The 6ths would be for Chief but Iโm glad you enjoyed it bud. As for your album; yeah it was pleasant too. If it makes any sense, it kind of reminds of Kings of Convenience if they were trying to be more of an early 2000s pop outfit. I think the thing I appreciated almost as much as the vocals here was the double bass on some of these tracks. They made a few interesting instrumental choice here and then which was cool. I donโt think I would pick up another of their records but did like this one while it was on. Itโs something that would be nice to have over supermarket radio or something like that, and thatโs definitely not a jab at you there. Anyway thanks mate, I wish I realised that it was you I was recommending last time because I have so many plans for you. Guess theyโll have to be put on hold for next time I get you.
The funny thing is that a few tunes have played where I work. And I don't mind that at all. Then again, the radio at the work did get better. Also though you wouldn't visit them again, I would try there 1996 as well as there 1999 album. Those records are more electronic driven. Maybe they will be more of your liking?

Oh right yeah! It was for you actually! I mistook you for Chief for a second, sorry! Thatโs why I chose it because I knew youโd like it but by the looks of things were beyond like haha. And yo! I donโt need to listen to this Camera Obscura record, I put it on again only a few week back. I love it! 21st century twee pop class. I think it could be my favourite of theirs, I still might have to work that one out. Thanks as always mate!
Nothing like a little Italian Jazz-Fusion to get through the day. Really liked this album, reminded me of Mahavishnu Orchestra with a dash of Faust. Particularly enjoyed the solo work of the guitar and the saxophone, and will defnitely give multiple listen to this album.
Seems like you can handle some psychedelic folk, Komorebi. _________________ Don't get work up over my posts. I'm an idiot.

I've known this album for a long time but lately every time I put it on it feels more underwhelming. The best track is 'dedicated', which condenses best the genre mixtures they are making throughout the album in a very dynamic way. The "purer" dream pop or shoegaze moments annoy the hell out of me. There is something that doesn't sit right with me about the tone of the whole thing. Its like there is a huge amount of great ideas but when everything is put together these ideas are scattered about and I need to keep chasing them. I wish it was more dynamic- less sweet and more trip, if that makes sense. It's still cool and everything but I feel quite ambivalent. I though I loved this album but I was just fooling myself.
Yeah, I love this. I really need to dig through Pink Floyd's albums as well as the solo material the band members made. And with this, it is quite near the cusp of a 100. Like this is some emotional well put together tracks. I feel like I should put more info on my thoughts but at the same time I'm awestrucked by this album. Now my pick.
Wow. You ain't wrong Chief. This was a great to excellent R&B album from the 2010's. Not the best from 2013 since Electric Lady exists. But I'd be damn to have kept ignoring this album. Now that I mentioned Electric Lady, that will be my pick. Was a way better album than Dirty Computer. That's for damn sure.

Hmmm....how have I not heard of these guys before? Underground Aussie indie rock is so my thing. What I really liked about this album was the variety from song to song but consistency in quality. On first listen I really enjoyed every song and the album just flew by. I am seriously inpressed, will listen to this again, and explore a bit of their back catalogue. Thanks mate for a great recommendation!
