Not my bag at all. Am sure it's quite clever and interesting if you have the right ear for it, but I can't get past the harpsichord, kazoo, etc., and the affected vocals.

As i am becoming more and more abdicted to prog folk, i really feel to suggest this album; lovely and peaceful for every music lover.

Psychedelic folk, as pure and as hallucinogenic as can be. The band really earns their name with this record and completely eschews any pop sensibilities that they had in their previous album. Filled with wonderful and eclectic contributions from both leads. Songs dance between wildly different ideas effortlessly throughout but none as much as "A Very Cellular Song". I'd let Mike Heron's nurturing aura guide me through any trip. I'd say that "Water" is a little out there. Potentially a masterpiece in my eyes and a massive achievement for the group.

Beautiful music it should be ranked higher. This is pure folk music at it’s best. My favorite tracks: Koeeoaddi There, The Minotaur‘s Song and Waltz Of The New Moon.
It may be historically important but it is not my cup of tea.

I once read that in the biographie of the band, the writer described this album as "holy". I can't think of a word that suites this album better. This is holy music.
The hangman's beautiful daughter, is one of the best British folk albums of all time. It's a stunning record full of wit, invention and originality. Every track has something to offer. Opener, Koeeoaddi there, is great, and, the minotaur's song, is wonderfully bizarre, a folk hymn gone mad. The centrepiece of the album is the jaw dropping epic, a cellular song, with, waltz of the new moon, and, swift as the wind, other highlights. There's nothing weak here. A genius record.
The best acid folk album of all time, there aren't any other contenders. Astounding album that has to be experienced as a continous piece of music, to get the full mind blowing effect.
