I had this on my 2017 chart. I don't know why I took it off, because it's a pleasant listen. I think we can expect good things from Nick Hakim in the future.
For Purplepash. Only listen to tracks 1-13, "Save Your Generation" through "Unlisted Track". I don't know why the reissue is the track listing for the site.
This was good. Wouldn't make my list, but I'd be damn if I didn't say this was interesting. So yeah I liked this.
Now I'll throw this album from 2013.
Janelle Monae's The Electric Lady.

A really sweet twee album. The songwriting and vocals were good throughout, and I was surprised and impressed by how varied and interesting the instrumental backings were. Would definitely listen again, and this is another one for my genre list. 4/5.

For Luigii:
I am going to give you this underappreciated release. It's called a mixtape, but it's more of a DJ mix. Perfect soundtrack for a July bbq, but now that it's fall maybe this will bring a little summer warmth back into your day.

So I finished up this mixtape. And to me, this was good. Not a mixtape that made me lose my shit, but I enjoyed it. The only thing that prevented me to rate it higher than a 75 is that the mixtape for some reason felt a little long which is funny to me since a lot of these tracks are short. I would argue that this album in some places kinda misses the summer aesthetic as well as a few of these songs in parts weren't as good to me like Track 5 were the vocals were a bit annoying for me. But the transitions were nice, a good amount of songs were really good and I realize that I need to continue or start off these artists that were featured on this. So Good job Bay.
Now my pick. "Damn this gets exhausting"
A piano solo album by Japanese artist Ryo Fukui. From either 94/95. It's on youtube with a million views.
I really need to listen to more international music. The guitar work was magnificent and the accompanying rhythm section support the rest of the album very well. I thoroughly enjoyed this album and will have to put in a list somewhere.
Janelle Monae is easily the most famous musician to grow up about 15 minutes from where I live, so that's always been cool. This album is good, but I've always felt that her ambitions are a bit too far reaching. Cut out 4 or 5 tracks, and this album would be better. She's at her best when she is carving her own path, and not attempting to fit within the confines of the rest of the genre. She is a unique artist who has probably only scratched the surface of her creative abilities.
The coolest part of this album is that it was basically lost to the internet until recently. As for the music itself, it's very pleasant, traditionalist solo piano jazz with a hint of classical influence. I liked it a good deal, but I don't see myself returning very often. 3.5/5
Some good quality pop punk meets post-hardcore (I got a Bad Religion mixed with Husker Du vibe from it) from before Good Charlotte and the like ruined the pop punk genre's reputation. Speaking of which there is some great pop punk around at the moment (Jeff Rosenstock, Luca Brasi, Slรธtface to name a few). Really liked the sound of his voice, some grungey moments every now and then, and from what I could pick up on one listen the lyrics were good too.
I probably listened to this at some point, but with how many albums he has it gets hard to tell sometimes. I mean, I don't think I've ever listened to anything from him that I could say I disliked. It's all good.
Wow this was a joyous marvelous listen. I enjoyed it very much thank you for the recommendation. It has a really cool dreamy sound with some really cool crazy sounding experimental music. I don't know how to quite classify it genre wise other than to say i like it a lot. I will definitely add this to the yearly chart and will be sure to check it out again.
