Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.7/100, a mean average of 78.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.8.

I dont recall listening to this album, although I know and love most of the tracks on it. If you don´t already know Croce´s music, it seems like a very good place to begin
A Fantastic and personal album from the great year in music.
Uno de mis cantautores favoritos con su disco más destacado.
One of my favorites. Great melodies!

This is the strongest release by Croce, containing many of his timeless hits such as Operator, Photographs and Memories, New York's Not My Home, Rapid Roy, and more. Great guitar, vocals, lyrics and melodies!
Overall, a solid, stripped-down folk rock album from a man who was gone too soon.
Great album that doesn't get enough praise
One of the most beautiful albums ever recorded. I wish more people would listen to it.
Almost feels like a greatest hits album because many of the songs that made Mr. Croce famous are here. High quality songs and songwriting throughout. A classic.
Why is this ranked so low? Jim Croce was one of the best songwriters of all time, not to mention a fantastic guitarist, singer and storyteller. He was in the same social circle as Arlo Guthrie, James Taylor and Jimmy Buffett, and I think he was simply the most talented of the four.
