These are hard choices Chief but I have to go for the Sons Of Kemet.
For one reason or another I didn’t get round to listen to the album last year although I wanted to.
But his track urgentie me to do that right away.
Up until last year I thought I was hopeless when it came to enjoying jazz. But Pharaoh Sanders's Karma opened things up late last year, and stuff like Sons of Kemet is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for in jazz. I listened to the whole album earlier and it was all great stuff. Easy vote here. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
Beverly is solid, but this SoK track is great, although the album as a whole was a bit overrated. _________________ Join us in the canon game / Add me on RYM
The Sons Of Kemet song was a fun one off song but Beverly feels like it has more potential to be a bit of a grower on me with the sort of sad emotional response I got from it.
