I find the trick to enjoying this album is deciding that all Bush's silly voices are obviously a good thing- then it all falls into place. And yeah, it's a worthy contended for album of the decade: the syncopation; melody; seamless transition between styles in the same song; that voice. In some ways I do think it's a better album than Hounds of Love (though I currently have it lower of the two on my 80s chart and it doesn't make my overall).
I've not yet dug into Kate Bush's discography properly but I'm starting to think I will-her musicality is incredible. I used to think of Bush as being an art pop performer who was probably on a similar level to Bowie. Now I think she was probably much better than him but I'll need to listen to a few more albums to be totally convinced of this...
