because of the variety of "black and blue" , i enjoy it way more than the modern classics "some girls" or "tattoo you".
Black and blue has a unique vibe that only the stones could create.

This is the only underrated Stones album (IMO). This is also the last Stones album worth owning.

Some Girls by The Rolling Stones

Tattoo You is worthwhile, and I think I prefer it.

Tattoo You is actually nothing more than a collection of outtakes and resurrected rejected song fragments that went back as far as ten years. Some of the music on the album is so old that there are songs that feature Mick Taylor playing instead of Ron Wood. If it weren't for having most of the vocals overdubbed in 1980-81, it would be basically an outtakes compilation.

hmmm... didn't know that. Makes sense on how the first track actually sounds like something they could've written in 1971 instead of 81.

I's age that Some Girls is the last great Rolling Stones album and is also rather underrated not only on BEA but generally I think. I also wasn't aware of the history of Tattoo You either.

Tattoo You is an excellent Stones album

Here is my underrated Stones album:

Steel Wheels by The Rolling Stones

Almost Hear You Sigh may be my favourite Stones song of all time. It is awesome.
Mixed Emotions and Sad Sad Sad are great too
I think this was their last great album.

Between the buttons.(#1290 !!)

Other underrated album IMO is Satanic Majesties, but in perspective a lot other artists were doing more adventurous and arguably better albums that year so it depends on the stance one takes. (#1285)
Black and Blue has Hand of fate wich is a quintaessential Stones track. But the album lacks focus. Still think it's underrated somehow. (#3378 and behind compilations)

Sounds like the truly underrated consensus is the blue album... maybe I should give it a try (amongst what seems pretty die hard Stones fans).

Whereas the less highly rated, but possibly greatest consensus? is for Some Girls.
