We are all seduced, but I beg this world not to crucify her, but rather to ignore her. If you don't, you'll become the monsters she wants you to be." |
Please, stop. This is gruesome. |
Sorry if a lot of commenters said that they liked the write-ups on my chart. I create these write-ups to describe my feelings for each album, and I get similar emotions and feelings from both After the Gold Rush and Harvest. So you can believe it's gruesome, but know that you're already outvoted so I'll post these verses on the album of the day threads if I want. When you lose an arm after reading one, let me know. |
I wasn't talking about your writeups. I was referring to your bizarre obsession with society's moral compass, and your supposition that we, collectively, have strayed from some sort of noble path in search of more fleeting, often carnal - according to you, anyway - rewards. It's bullshit, and it all feeds into your strange, insecure worldview in which selfish, overtly masculine Hemingway types are the heroes, whilst the rest of us are on a weird collision course that will end in some new Sodom and Gomorrah. And the use of a sex worker as a metaphor for the world's ills is fucking demeaning. |
Any half-brain could see that it was just a pop culture reference to the WHORE OF BABYLON. And you know the world's in a terrible place and that horrible things are going on, and you want to criticize the awareness? Also, when did I ever say that I'm better than you because I'm a masculine guy? I'm comfortable with my sexuality, and I have a right to joke about testosterone. Men aren't allowed to have any pride? So "pride" is the belief that you're better than someone just because? Who said that? Not me! |
If you keep saying you're comfortable with your sexuality some more, someone might believe you one day. |
Man, it takes very little to be outraged here... Besides Spyglass is right about the album: Harvest is much more stronger and cohesive, but it sold a little too much for some purists..
