It's hard to decide, but I think this is my favourite New Order record. Even if I wish they had put the 12" version of The Perfect Kiss.

Nail on the head there. One of my favourite ever albums only let down by the shortened version of Kiss. Always makes me a little pissed off when I here it cut short an incredible instrumental piece. I always think why would you do that? Anyways, probably their best.

I agree with you both. It's still a great album, but the album's best track ("Perfect Kiss") and another great track ("Subculture") both have much better versions on Substance 1987.

Needless to say, "Love Vigilantes" and "Elegia" are both amazing. I love how us fans have 2 different interpretations of "Love Vigilantes". Some of us assume that he died in the war, and returned to his family as a ghost, while others believe that the letter was sent by accident, and that his wife committed suicide due to her grief.
