Unofficial Discord Server

With plug.dj and dubtrack.fm effectively being rendered useless, I've been thinking for the past week how to amend such issues. I brought some ideas on site improvement with albummaster and the best option I've figured out is to create an unofficial discord server for the benefit of the community. BEA rules will still be followed, but mostly the goal here is to find an option where we can play music together and discuss things in a more informal manner. This is not to replace the forums as a whole but bring the community together. Normally, I'm iffy about advertisements but we've done similar in the past with plug.dj, turntable, and skype. So I guess this is just the first step here. https://discord.gg/Jdt5cya is a permanent invite code to the server. Let's see if this experiment is a good idea, yeah? For those of you who do not know what Discord is, I'll explain. Discord is a messenger-chatroom hybrid program. Like the weird stepdaughter of Skype and Ventrilo, or MSN Messenger and mIRC if you are of the older variety of internet user. That's pretty much it. It's to serve as an informal chatroom and replacement for plug DJ sessions. That's all.

Does it make a guest account everytime or something? If so, just delete it or whatever. That's my bad.

To be honest I had the same issue.

What it is is that discord doesn't make you create an account to use its services.

So to avoid the confusion, go to discord's website directly (instead of links inviting you to join a server), then create an account. Then join the discord server.

When I tried it any other way I was confused if I was using my actual account or a guest account.

You could download the software instead of using the browser version for more cohesion, as well. In fact the discord program is better in many other ways.
