Funny, the best thing about this forum seems to be people's taste in avatars. Norman's is awesome, there's an air-humping stormtrooper, and somebody here has a screenshot from Stalker. I might need to step up my game because I think a Siouxsie single cover doesn't cut it.

The humping stormtrooper has been a hallmark of mine since the early days of the internet...
Just got around to listening to Bruce Springsteen's latest. I gotta say it was pretty good. With Western Stars, Springsteen on Broadway (though not new music but certainly a re-imagining of his old stuff) and now Letter to You, it seems like these have been the best few years of Springsteen's career since the 80s.
Also, his songwriting and playing capabilities at 70+ years old give me slightly more faith in having a 70+ year old leader of the US... _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
This is much gentler, but almost equally impressive as the last year's Seven Horses For Seven Kings. If you're into electroacoustic, experimental electronic, ambient etc. you'll love Black To Comm's music. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart
Wow, new System of a Down music. Never thought I'd see the day. Protect The Land is good, but lacks some of the punch that made their best work so fun. Genocidal Humanoidz rocks, it even has a double bass breakdown at one point. More solid than I expected after over 15 years of silence. The lyrics are about the current Armenia situation. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart
I'm gradually relistening to the 2020 albums that really caught my attention and I can't be enthusiastic enough about this death metal/sludge metal cover album by Inter Arma, a band that I don't really know otherwise:

Garbers Days Revisited by Inter Arma
Normally I try to avoid to put cover albums in my year chart but I gladly make an exception for this one. The way how they adapt the original songs and make them their own completely in an absolutely devastating way (this is after all a death metal band) is incredible and is taking these already fantastic songs not to another level but to another planet. The best attempts are their take on Ministry's Scarecrow, Neil Young's Southern Man (btw you can listen to some awesome guitar solos here), Hรผsker Dรผ's The Girl Who Lives on Heaven Hill and Tom Petty's Runnin' Down The Dream. But also the rest is Ab Fab. The only exception is their terrible cover of Purple Rain. Highly recommended to anybody who is a fan of the originals and people into metal.
