Yes true Pat
Sorry, my issue was not with the song, which is really plaintive and touching, but with the way it was being sung
no offence meant

Oh sorry if I came across offended! Not in the slightest!
My comment wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular, just wanted to add a very brief note on a song that gets to me quite a bit sometimes, that said I’ve been known to blast it out at the top of my lungs myself and not doing it justice whatsoever, I pretty much rate all the Cranberries albums very highly. _________________

yes me too!
that's cool! I love The Cranberries. So do my cousins.
Me and my best mate Nigel both love The Cranberries
Argue is the favourite album of both of us by them although I also rate their debut very highly.
I must add, I have 100 % Irish blood myself, even though I am a Scotsman and my Family is Scottish.
My grandfathers' parents were from Cork and Dublin, respectively.
My Granny's family were from a fishing village in the North.
And my Mum's Mum was born in Belfast.
So I am only 3rd generation Scottish.
I love Irish music and culture. And Irish people.
Regrettably I've never been to Ireland. Not yet!
But I'll rectify that once this silly lockdown business has settled down a bit!

I guess the title of the album refers to conflict in Ireland- I didn’t realise that until just now.
I went through a phase with this album, but then really went off them. I think I stopped getting along with the self-seriousness of the band. Maybe, ill come back to it sometime.
I loved the Japanese Breakfast cover of Dreams ( which was originally on the Cranberries’ debut).

I'd probably give this one the slightest of edges too if I was forced to pick a favourite, but that said, only slightly!
Ah cool, so many do, I'm Cork through and through (at least as far back as I can tell anyway).
I do recommend checking the place out when you get a chance, hell of a lot to do/see here for such a small place and the music scene should be back up and running by then all going to plan!
I do love Scotland though, spend quite a bit of time there when I can, I used work with a company in Wolverhampton for a few years and would take all the Scotland contracts for an excuse to visit, my sister in-law used live in central Edinburgh too so I used visit there a lot (also great place to crash for the Fringe which I loved going to).
Usually spent a fair bit of time working in Glasgow/Aberdeen, last time I was up was just before Covid kicked off and I stayed in Falkirk, stopped by those big ol' horse sculptures.
Been around the Highlands and some of the Hebrides too but there's a lot more to see there, beautiful places! _________________

that's true that so many people have Irish blood, or at least some Irish in them
good thing too!
I have a green " Luck O' The Irish " mug
it's my favourite mug, man
that's great that you've been to Scotland, all over Scotland in fact
you are right, it's a beautiful country, stunning landscape
But Ireland is beautiful too.
Yes I want to visit Cork and Dublin one day, check out my roots
I might meet a relative!
I would love to do a tour round Ireland, it would have to be by coach, cuz I don't drive.
After Covid. One day.
Great chatting to you by the way, Patman!

Good stuff! Our bus routes do leave a lot to be desired admittedly, very car dependent country, but small, so that helps too, Cork moving westwards towards Kerry is a must though, cannot recommend it enough and generally one of the more popular stages of the Atlantic coast, lots of great places for food etc. along the way too, the west coast is pretty spectacular for the most part!
Been on a real Cranberries kick again on the back of this thread. _________________
