sorry, I had to add something recently because a few people were complaining about receiving very low ratings (0-5%) from users that didn't have charts of their own. People would be far less likely to leave these types of ratings if they had their own chart! Members without charts can still leave comments on other member charts, so it's only ratings that this affects and nothing else.

Part of the idea was also to pick out the better charts so that they could be displayed on the home page, and I think we need to have some kind of rating threshold to help filter the better charts. The site average chart rating is 73% (so a 75% threshold is about right IMO).

There are going to be a lot of charts around the 70% mark that are not on the list because that is slightly under the site average.

Fair enough. If it's to showcase the better charts, that seems like a fine system. I was just thinking that if you wanted to present more of the unknown as well as the popular charts, not having a threshold for chart ratings would be more beneficial.
