Unfortunately, neither of these do anything for me. I've tried listening to Zach Bryan a few times and I can definitely see how he can be emotionally impactful for someone else, but his music, vocals and lyrics just do not grab me personally. Sorry travelful, lowkey and other Zach Bryan fans here The last minute of Stick Season is fun and playful, might vote for that, idk. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart
Zach Bryan is an impeccable songwriter with emotional depth, but he... needs a producer to tell him no and slow down. American Heartbreak as a record was incredibly consistent... but it was bloated. Over two hours of songwriting, even consistent, is gonna wear on the listener. He's improving a lot but he needs a band, too. I think that'd bring his sound to the next level.
Something in the Orange is not the best song on American Heartbreak, but its good and emotionally packing. Personally, I would've picked Cold Damn Vampires or Mine Again or From Austin. Still a good song and the one I'm voting for, but yeah.
I get that, I was torn between many Zach Bryan songs. It was mainly between this one, Tishomingo, Fifth Of May, and Mine Again. I actually originally did nominate Mine Again but changed it because that song was released before 2022 (even though it was on American Heartbreak). I figured with all the great tracks he released in 2022 I should probably pick one actually from the said year, even if technically Mine Again would have been allowed. _________________ Griselda, by Fashion Rebels 2020's Hip-Hop 2020's Country
For me, both songs fall into the “pleasant but rather forgettable” category. That being said, if there’s one of them that could potentially stick with me for a while, that’s Stick Season, so I’ll go with that. _________________ Bob Dylan Charles Mingus
