Terrible in every way. No redeeming qualities, and I have an unbelievably hard time believing the same guys who made Whatever People Say, would actually really not only be able to record the excruciation that is this, but releases it and then it become popular. It doesn't help either that one of the songs I have an awful memory connected to.

Less hot on it than others, but it's a perfectly fun rock record. Very weird that this is the album where Arctic Monkeys truly broke through in the states in a mainstream way.

I really like this album, especially those first 2 tracks. But I really don't get why it's more highly regarded than Favourite Worst Nightmare.

It's the album that got me into Arctic Monkeys, but in hindsight its quite bland and lacking in any sense of adventure. I don't dislike it, but I don't particularly like it either.

I’m with some of the other comments here, it’s a solid enough record, the first couple tracks are highlights, and Arabella has some really excellent lyrics. However, I do feel it’s a bit tame and forgettable as an overall project.
