A site update has just been added which mostly aims to provide more visibility of album year & decade changes. This is more the case for older albums, but occasionally the original year of release for an album might be unclear and the year on BEA might swing between different values. This then causes an associated impact on people's year & decade charts as albums might become ineligible for the charts in which they originally appeared (& points in those charts are then not awarded to those albums because albums only earn points in the associated year or decade that they are deemed to have been released).

To help mitigate this, on your My Charts page, you will now see at a glance which year/decade charts contain ineligible albums due to album years being changed after a chart was updated. You will also see suspect albums in each chart, and any deleted albums will also be indicated (albums are deleted from the site 28 days after an album has been flagged as suspect).

Album year changes are now also reported in the forums on a weekly basis to provide extra visibility. Additional controls may also be added to the admin pages to help prevent edit wars and reduce the number of year changes being made.

As part of this update, many other smaller changes have also been made across the site to improve mobile browsing. improve performance in certain areas & address a number of small bugs.

Lastly, BEA is now on Bluesky (so expect posts to be added there soon, in addition to Facebook and X).
