I was dissappointed this site didn't immediately show up in the first results, but I was very pleased when I found it.

This is a real problem, actually. If you search Google for "greatest music," BEA doesn't appear anywhere in the first ten pages of results, whereas for "greatest albums" it's on page 2. Some would say that's appropriate, since it really is an album-ranking site and not a general-purpose music site, but it would still be better if BEA were somewhere in those first 3 or 4 pages.

Presumably the solution is to place the word "music" somewhere on each page where Google's crawlers will read it, but that's a slippery slope - where does it end? Next you'll want to put "songs" and "records" and "tunes" in there too, but at some point everyone can see what you're doing, including the limited AIs that process Google's crawler data and keep getting smarter and smarter until they eventually take over the world and send Arnold Schwarzenegger back in time to prevent recorded music from ever even being invented in the first place.

Oh well, whatever! Welcome to the site, and don't worry, people like me who fret about SEO (and Arnold Schwarzenegger) are very much in the minority here. (Probably.)

It wouldnโ€™t have been so bad if I had googled something like โ€œgreatest musicโ€, but I literally searched โ€œcatalog of greatest albums listsโ€ and โ€œlist of greatest albums listsโ€ and google still assumed I only wanted Rolling Stone, Apple Music, and Pitchforkโ€™s lists and nothing else. Oh well. In the end, the point is I found it and, so far, Iโ€™m very happy about it ๐Ÿ˜„

I asked google for the best Quicksilver Messanger Service album, and it mentioned BEA. Never heard of it before that.

What's interesting there is that you get almost the exact same results if you type in "best qms album," even though "QMS" is also the acronym for "Quality Management System" and probably a bunch of other things. I'm afraid this could mean Google is getting too smart for us "regular people."

To answer your question, I must first introduce myself. I am a native New Yorker now living in Florida since 1994; I'm a Baby Boomer retired since 2011; I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music as I grew up with 50's/60's rock 'n' roll, folk, jazz, pop, R&B, outlaw country, some classical and much more (except opera). Two days ago while browsing the internet I came across an article posted by a STACKER writer (100 Best Rock Albums of all time) which referenced this website as the source for the list. Much to my amazement, I never was aware of the site before. Needless to say more, I will be a frequent visitor and hopefully contributor to the activities herein.

Hey, welcome to BEA, man! ๐Ÿ˜

It took a minute or two to find the Stacker piece in question, but yeah, it looks like they took the BEA Top 100 and annotated it, basically. Not bad, though even I could have written funnier annotations.

Welcome to the site pjlare. Will be great to have another active contributor to the site. New blood and new thoughts are never a bad thing.

Hope you enjoy it and maybe weโ€™ll end up in a few chats.
