The weirdest thing that I’ve just noticed. On the copy of the album that I have Rickie is facing right, on this photo she’s facing left. Can anyone explain when and why this was done?
Here's what I know:
Every copy of a physical album that I have ever seen has the photo facing right. This includes my CD copy, which is a 1990 reissue for BMG Record Club. Thought I'd take a look...and there it is. The back page of the cd booklet is the full size picture facing left. It appears that the same was done for at least the Columbia House 1990 reissue.
As far as I can tell, the album has never been released with the facing left pic as the front cover. But you know how the interwebs can be. Someone probably started using the reverse photo in an attempt to be clever. It can be found in places like spotify and Amazon...but I can't see anything official with that photo. But here's the oddest thing. Back in 2022 (Christmas Day, 2022 to be exact), the photo that was originally placed on the album on BEA back in 2011 had been sized incorrectly, so that not all of her name fit in the picture. And so, a data moderator who shall remain nameless (it was ME, dammit), went to replace it with a better photo. What obviously happened was that the first photo of the cover that came up that was of useful size was from Amazon. It faces the wrong way, but that data moderator didn't notice and added it to the album page.
So, there you have it. The answer is, it's probably not an official front cover photo because it faces the wrong way, and some fool of a data moderator added the wrong picture 3 years ago.

This one has always been exceptional, since not only the dynamic face expression of the lion and the hatching look cool, the artwork has "hidden secrets". Can you spot them all?
It's a great piece of abstract art and I've always thought that the hidden faces are a great optical "trick".
