Thanks for the feedback, I'll look at adding the ability to customise/increase the items per page (currently 20). Some users have over 1,000 charts. which is too many to list on a single page (it makes the site unusable and isn't good for performance). There was an idea in the past to be able to 'label' charts so you could organise them. This might be another way of achieving this without reverting back to how things were. _________________ Bluesky · Facebook · Spotify · X

I have a full array of overall, decade and year charts that I use on a regular basis...and those are the charts I use the least. I'm pretty sure that I am not the only one who uses custom charts more than the regular ones. Thing is, and I would think this to be not exclusive to me, once you've got your regular charts initially set, they don't get edited as much as the custom charts are...for me, I am ALWAYS updating custom charts. The people using custom charts aren't new users who need it simplified. People with custom charts are folks who have been here and know what they are doing.
I may have suggested this before...but maybe, in lieu of going back to the former page that had everything on one page, we could look at trying this:
1) At the top of the charts page, it would be VERY helpful to have a simple button to Jump To Custom Charts. Having to scroll halfway down the Charts page to get to them is a drag, and if you're spending time working on custom charts, a real pain. It would be great if that button would take you to a page that is custom charts ONLY, omitting the overall, decade and year charts. You already know you want a custom chart...those are simply in the way at this point. And have a Back To Main Charts button in case you made a mistake or change your mind.
2) Right now, every custom chart on that list is either 4 or 5 lines. And there are only 20 charts per page. If the Custom Charts list started at the top of the page by hitting that button, you could list a lot more of them. Simply by removing the overall, decade and year listing. And if you reduced each chart listed from 4 or 5 lines to a single line, you could show well over 100 charts per page instead of just the twenty on each page.
3) In the search box, could it be changed to show past results as you type into it? That might help to reduce search time and frustration.
The number of custom charts that I have pales in comparison with some other users. But I feel some of that frustration as well. I understand that the charts list was getting way too long on some accounts, even mine was too long. I don't know if these things above would be something people would want, but I believe they would help make the navigation of our chart lists a bit more manageable. _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

Thanks for useful insights, moving things around sounds like a sensible idea or perhaps even a tabbed interface to switch between different types of charts might also work, so custom charts are on a separate tab to year & decade, so no scrolling to the bottom (perhaps default to last used tab). In conjunction with more charts per page, this would improve things a great deal in terms of reducing scrolling and content per page.

Could suggest a user’s past search terms on typing, but showing past results is a bit more involved.

Apologies, thought things were on better footing, but looks like this area needs more work. I’ll add to Q1 2026 roadmap but may need to move other stuff around. Luckily, ink on roadmap not dry yet. _________________ Bluesky · Facebook · Spotify · X

I wasn't gonna say this, but to me the really aggravating thing is constantly having "shunt" items from a 100-entry year chart into a custom "extension" chart, just to make room for a release I didn't know about in the year chart. It's particularly bad at this time of year, too!
I could be wrong, but it just seems like it should be relatively simple to just increase the maximum year-chart and custom-chart sizes for Levels 7 and 8 (and maybe the maximum viewable entries-per-page too, since 10 is way too small a number). I know that's seen as a radical change among the regulars here, but that way there would be more custom charts that are actually custom, and not just "extensions" — which would be helpful in itself.

Flooding the database/moderation team with unmoderated albums is probably the main concern (it's not entirely a technical issue), so bigger charts would be reserved for premium users (& this is on the 2026 roadmap). However, if charts were extended to 200 entries, it probably wouldn't solve the problem entirely, because people would then want 300 (but 200 would be a start). ('Continuation' charts were another idea proposed a while back, and this could also be re-investigated). _________________ Bluesky · Facebook · Spotify · X
