Thanks the recent recs everyone— Khazna, Otonoma, Tears Before Bedtime— great shouts, wouldn't have found them otherwise—
Course, Mitski, Callahan— haven't heard either yet, but I'll probably give at least one a spin tonight—
@Repo re: Callahan, yeah— he's top-tier— don't think anyone can sway me from that—
& his post-Smog discography alone is enough to place him there—
And I'm going to give a quick shout to a band that doesn't need one, but I think Gorillaz just dropped their best since Plastic Beach— really solid release from a project that I didn't think had any gas left in the tank— great production, musicianship, features, cohesive themes, etc— it's nice having a thought-through concept album pop-up every once in a while—
anyhow, what I'm getting at is, if you were going to skip it, maybe give it a shot— _________________ Doubles & Conch

I don't know if anyone has made note of this yet, but unless I've miscounted (which is always possible), there are now 9 Gorillaz studio albums and 9 Blur studio albums. So... how about that, eh.
Anyway, Paste didn't like it, but they didn't like the new Nothing album either, so they've obviously lost their minds.

Glad to see you're OK! (I don't think I've ever been 100% lucid personally, but I guess I can understand wanting to be, in certain situations...)
I kinda like the Flaccid Mojo LP, though I"m more of a "sit-down listener" and this strikes me as a "get up and run around" sort of album. But the weather's getting nicer now, so maybe I should start jogging again.
Also, there's a new album from OHYUNG coming out next week, and I noticed it wasn't on your list yet...? Unfortunately it's entitled "Iowa," which is hugely triggering for me, though others might not have a problem with it. The two preview tracks seem to indicate it's all ambient (her last album was mostly acid-pop/trip-hop stuff), but I actually prefer this, personally. It's vaguely ominous-sounding! 😄

Why is the title Iowa triggering for you?! 😅

Ha! It's not that bad! I've had some good times there! But then again, I'm catholic!
(Actually had to google that! Funnily enough, I am Cap-C Catholic, BUT the most catholic of Catholics if you know what I mean! 😅)

Oh shit thanks for the heads up, I actually got the promo for this one (there's perks in pretending to be a music journalist!) and yeah it's a good one, just neglected to get it listed. Though I think I may prefer the songy stuff from last year, this one is some quality ambient.
And thanks guys!! Feeling great about the change
