Squid's always been fine by me, but Earl has been a constant in my life since high school.
It's weird seeing him come full circle on this album and song. Once writing lyrics about how his own personal life was affected by having an absentee father, Earl's now a husband and a father himself. It's a joyous song about love and its power to save and make us better people. I'm happy that the strange kid from Odd Future is now living his best life.
Easy vote for Earl for me. Squid is a band I respect more than I enjoy. Like you, Tha1ChiefRocka, Earl has been a core part of my life since high school and his music has always spoke to me on a level few other rappers get too. _________________ Griselda, by Fashion Rebels 2020's Hip-Hop 2020's Country
Squid is a very good band that deserves all the success they've been enjoying. Cowards may not be their greatest moment, but it still had a lot to offer. Personally, the album's closing track would have been my pick. Admittedly, though, it wouldn't have mattered at all in this specific match-up, which is a no-contest as far as I'm concerned, it's Earl all the way. _________________ Bob Dylan Charles Mingus
