It was an album that, when I first heard it, I had never heard anything quite like it. I agree with what you said on how it opened a new paradigm. Once I fully wrapped my head around everything the album was doing, I knew it was special. It's funny how we both like Kid A better, though. Kid A was an album that took a little while for me to warm up to, but now it's one of my all-time favorites. It takes the paranoia and futuristic atmosphere of OK Computer and just runs away with it. It has an even better atmosphere, and is more cohesive. I think an album that grows on you has something to do with classic albums too. The ability an album has to continually get better with repeated listens, rather than gradually losing its shine.
