I'm surprised at how few reviewers have mentioned what I see as the emotional core of the film - the relationship between Cobb and his wife, and letting go of his guilt over her death. I thought that scene where he confronts her in limbo was beautiful.

Anyway, it has flaws for sure, but to me they were very very minor. The whole setting of running around inside dreams had a very simple appeal to me and was never supposed to be about plumbing the human psyche. I don't think that's where the heart of the movie lies. I do think the logic of the film holds up though.

"Did you think going off the bridge was important? It wasn't, because they can hit the water and be okay. Did you think dying in a dream would be a problem? It's not, so you can leave DiCaprio's sleeping body in a river without oxygen and he'll be fine."

Both of those assumptions were obvious misunderstandings.

Also, no-one gets to talk dirt about Zimmer's soundtrack! That shit is awesome! Razz

That reviewer wrote:
By the end of the film, every character has shown off how brilliant they are at getting a 100% kill rating on a bunch of Modern Warfare scenarios, solemnly referred to by DiCaprio as "levels".

This did make me Laughing though.

I liked Inception a lot better when it was called Paprika.

It's a great movie, but overall, it's not too complicated. You may have to watch it once to get an understanding, but on second watch you'll fully understand it.

The ending might take a few watches though Razz

What are people opinions about the end anyway? Anxious Is he in a dream? Is he awake? Is he alive? Is he inside someone elses dream?..or other multiple levels of dream...

For me, the problem with Inception wasn't that it had too much filler. It was that it had way too much filler.

There was a 45-minute segment in the middle (from about where the girl learns about Inception to the snow thingy) that is up there with the greatest films ever made. The only 110 minutes are pure boilerplate crap.

This is what I want to know. It's obviously an attempt to leave without an answer. I think he's left in the dream. Awesome movie.

Much like Fincher's The Game, thoroughly entertaining as long as you don't think about it too much.

I think this movie was played pretty straight. Viewers tried to make it more complicated then it really is because of the way they had the ending. I believe he got out and was able to make it back to his family. Simple as that. I thought they did a great job of explaining all that happens inside the dreams and "the rules" of it as it were. I really enjoyed it and didn't feel confused at all.
