great pick. Love that series and it particularly resonates with me as I come from Birmingham.

I'm not sure if this is true but Apparently my grandmother knew members of the Birmingham (or Brummagem) Boys, the actual gang that Peaky Blinders is based on. The Peakies themselves were a real gang but a low level one but I suspect that Steven Knight, quite rightly, thought that Peaky Blinders had more of a ring to it.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

That's really cool to share!

II finished the show several months ago. It was really interesting, the settings and a lot of the characters.

Seasons 1-2 had the strongest story for me II believe. Lots of drama and a great conclusion.
The Italian mafia arc was kinda random for me. Felt like the trope of a new villain comes up in each season, like in the Sopranos and probably other TV shows.
Seasons 5-6 had great stories, but for some reason II prefer seasons 1-2 for now.

A great show!

II'm looking forward for the movie that's gonna come out and conclude the story.

Me too, but the series comes from the BBC and was later picked up by Netflix — HBO had nothing to do with it. Also, HBO stopped making top-quality television a few months back. (We'll have to see if they resume at some point!)

It just came up to me that it's probably not an HBO series, so II looked it up. Apologies d'oh!
Nevertheless, considering HBO have been making TV shows for so long, they've made many good ones.

リリイ・シュシュのすべて [All About Lily Chou-Chou] (2001) by Shunji Iwai

This Japanese film has quite an expansive cult following on the internet.
"Lily Chou-Chou" is a fictional singer present in the story, but only through the other characters' perspective, which the film's story revolves on their daily lives.
In fact, a whole music album was recorded for the movie, with great songs:
呼吸 [Kokyū] (2001) by Lily Chou-Chou

All of the anonymous South-Korean artist 나의머리카락뭉치 [Myhairball]'s releases' art covers are shots from the film, for example:

빨간플러그 [Redplug] (2007) by 나의머리카락뭉치 [Myhairball]

And 파란노을 [Parannoul]'s breakthrough album: "To See the Next Part of the Dream", who was both influenced by the Lily Chou film and Myhairball, has dialogue samples of the film and the album cover is a referrence to a shot in the film too:

To See The Next Part Of The Dream (2021) by 파란노을 [Parannoul]

Considering Parannoul have gained positive reception on music forums, and even on BEA, "All About Lily Chou-Chou" is a film that should be checked out.

I'm pretty sure that it's a Netfix release but hoping that it might get a cinema release. Would be great to see it on the big screen.

Currently binging the Walking Dead.

I watched the series when it came out up to Series 10 but never got to see the final series (11) so decided to watch all 177 episodes from Series 1 Esp. 1 through to the end. I'm currently @ Series 11 Esp. 4. Not long to go now.

Going to start on one of the offshoot series after that but not fallen on a final choice yet. Will probably watch all of them eventually

Finally completed the Marathon that is The Walking Dead and not disappointed with the ending. I can see now how the shoot offs fit into the narrative.

Now started Daryl Dixon (my favourite WD character) and feels like it might be a winner based on the first episode.

It premiered on BBC, and then Netflix acquired deals to distribute the show worldwide, like Madhattanjack said earlier.
II think the movie "The Immortal Man" will be mainly available on Netflix. II wonder how it will turn out to be.
