I mean, it's the direction they were taking on Mylo Xyloto, so it's not all that surprising.
That being said, it still sounds like Coldplay, but with more electronics. The songs that have come out for Ghost Stories have mostly been fine. This track doesn't sound like it's any worse than what we have to expect from the album. I don't think that they're going to change the world, but I'm sure it'll be another decent-to-good Coldplay album, as usual. _________________ Inversion Verses

This is not EDM, this is just contemporary pop music. Is this kind of "indie" electro-pop with quiet verses and big, epic choruses the new trend? I mean, isn't that Imagine Dragon's or Fun.'s recipe? Ah well, why not, I don't mind it to be fair. It was pleasant. Not sure you could possibly record a more forgettable song, though. I've never been a Coldplay fan, but at least they used to be catchy.
Avicii co-wrote and co-produced it which should explain a lot of things. To be honest I love that they don't give a fuck what their fans think of the direction they go in. There's nothing wrong with being madly in love with pop and they've always stood for that (people always forget that the stuff on Parachutes is the sort of stuff that made it in the charts back then). It's not nearly as good as "Magic" or "Midnight" but it's not enough to deter me from listening to the album.
