Chart Notes: "This album makes me want a window that the sun always shines in, with a rose in a glass vase under it. It portrays that really sweet incarnation of love, the cuddling and giggling one. It reminds me of those cartoons I watched when I was little, like Max and Ruby."
(note: I don't hate Cellar, his chart was just set to private, I sent a PM so I'll put up something for him whenever he responds)
I know Brandon's a huge fan of this record, so you could be forgiven for thinking that this pick is a little biased. But who cares a jot when Cross Paths is possibly one of the most charming LPs you'll likely come across - I'm truly happy he's brought it to the attention of others on this site.
Imagine the sound of a cosmic jamboree taking place on an Antipodean moon where the lack of gravitational pull has gone to your head and everyone's drunk too much lemonade. As the embers of the campfire are fading, some plucky Melbourne-ites grab a guitar, a tambourine and a Bontempi organ and go mad singing silly love songs and ditties about buses for 40 minutes. Then decide to disappear on a paper boat back home to the comfort of their cots.
Been meaning to check this out for a while now and finally listened to it yesterday. Really warm, sweet lo-fi record that I could see growing on me with future listens _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
