What bands have you seen live when they were just a small time band that you knew were going to be big?
I saw Skunk Anasie, uncredited on a multi band bill and it was obvious, straight away that they had something about them. A real energy and excitement.
I saw Blur in 1991, and was struck by the charisma (and beautiful voice) of Damon Albarn and how good they were on stage.
Don't know if it counts because they already had a hit, but I (and the friend I was with at the concert), knew they were going to get much bigger for sure.
I saw Ed Sheeran busking in Leeds city centre before he had been on TV or released his debut. He was impressive- he was already doing that thing where he records himself as he plays so he play all parts of a song. He attracted a decent crowd but there was no clue that he would become famous really.
