Band was great back then. Something was lost on later albums.

It's good/great, but not as good as Dear Science.

This album does have TV On The Radio's best song, "Wolf Like Me".

I think this is 35 on my overall chart. But it's 3 for me in 2006. I was having a crisis when I realized it couldn't go higher! An incredible set of songs, not one weak one. Follow up Dear Science is also a classic but has some weaker points. They waned horribly on Nine Types of Light. Whatever comes next, I'll be there.

5 through 8 is great. I think this band is a bit overrated in some circles but still very good. Dear Science is a touch better than this one. Yes, Wolf Like Me is probably one of the best songs of that decade.

I go to a shit load of concerts. And, I have a strict policy about NEVER EVER reaching out to acts once they reach a certain level of national prominence. I just hate the entire concept of celebrities. Besides, "adored" artists I'd met or hung out with always ended up being self-absorbed, entitled boobs. BUT, I was in Moab, Utah in 2008 (before Dear Science was released) eating at some Mexican restaurant and three of the guys from TVOTR were seated at the table right next to me and my now ex-girlfriend. There are zero rock clubs in Moab and the chance that they might be playing some private party was too good to pass up. Not being a fool and loving a good party, I sent my girlfriend over to investigate. Turns out they were just passing through after playing some club in Denver, but they were the sweetest, most down-to-earth guys you could ever imagine. Totally guys you'd want to kick back and have some beers with at the pub.

It's just too bad, that THIS was their last awesome album. Razz

Ew no way Dear Science better than this. I say this every time tv on the radio show up on the forums, but each release following desperate youth saw less guitar noise and/or less acapella vocal harmony stuff (the things that made them interesting to me), and the production got more plastic sounding. Dear Science has some good songs, but its inconsistent (same for nine types of light).

I don't listen to these guys as much as I used to, but I still love most of this album. Let the Devil in kinda sucks though.

Also, Best tracks: Province, Playhouses, Wash the Day
