Norman Bates wrote: | Amazing album, with famed "Taj Mahal" on top of it all. A must-try for all you would-be Brazilian music discoverers. |
I wrote this here in Feb. 2010 good god. Time flies.
Anyway, I still think the same.

I've listened to it for the tourney, and it's very very good. Not really sure what to say though, I guess I should listen to it again, there are some parts of it I don't remember. Makes you want to dance.

Not my favourite Jorge Ben album - that somewhat sketchy accolade would go to either his 1969 S/T LP or Forca Bruta - but it's a sumptuous record nonetheless, and a perfect listen whilst sitting gazing at the Mediterranean with a beer in my hand (as I'm doing right now, so it goes)... _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

A bit too late on this, but yeah, listen to this album, it's just a lot of fun, playful, catchy, and will instantly make you dance. Samba-rock like nothing ever done before or after. It's a good one to start with brazilian music.
A Tábua de Esmeralda is tied with this as my favourite Jorge Ben album, but Força Bruta and the 1969 self-titled are also indispensable, which are both much more chilled records. Jorge Ben is one of my favourite drunk friends, hehe
Also, NoWaxJim thank you very much for your comments, I appreciate that. You're very sweet.
