Is it possible to have an option in our profiles to disable the guitar/star symbol altogether?

that's because we've not yet added that feature yet to show/hide ranks and nobody suggested an alternate image. It's on the 'to do' list, like a lot of other changes, but it hasn't been done yet as it's quite cosmetic and doesn't affect the functioning of the site.
In the ideal world, I'd mop all these changes up and do them straight away, but I can't afford to work on this site full time (although it might seem like it with the amount of admin I'm doing these days!) 🙁
EDIT: I've just resized the image so it's a bit smaller and hopefully blends a bit better.

It's perfectly fine as it is and I'd prefer if you don't spend your time on stuff like that. Elston just must have had a very veeery veeeeeeery veeeeeeeeery slooooooooow daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
