... how on earth are the band 'Yuck' British? Just how is this possible?

I mean the debut sounds more USA than half those 90s American alternative rock bands. The whole sound... everything about them from the way they dress to.... EVERYTHING MAKES THEM LOOK/SOUND AMERICAN!!!!

I'm just lost for words. I only just found out this half an hour and come on if someone handed you their debut album and you knew nothing about them you would assume they came from Texas or some other near by state. Would you?

Is anyone with me on this one? 😲 Please 😲

Same actually. One of the only bands I remember being surprised about their nationality. Sadly, I don't see them ever releasing something as strong as their debut again, but 'Shook Down' is easily in my top 5 favourite songs of the decade.

Shame really what happened, they had tonnes of potential.

Why do so many American bands sing with fake British accents?

Can you explain me the relevance of this?
does it matter? if they sound good( not for me) there should be no issue what origin they have I think

I think kiki was merely expressing his surprise.

And I'll add that you might question the sincerity of a band that does its very best to sound American, down to the accent they take when they sing - not that I care personally, I'm just saying that for some who value sincerity, there's something, at least, funny about it, if not totally disingenuous.

At this point I'd like to state that I don't care one bit about this problem, seeing that I don't care about Yuck.
