Their best, and the album that best represents what Outkast stood for musically. A heady mix of slippery, swampy funk and hip-hop that took on a whole host of influences whilst sounding very little like anybody else. Both rappers are incredibly capable, with Big Boi's angular flow bouncing off of, and intertwining with, Dre's elastic rhymes. One of the most natural MC pairings ever, and incredibly - given how talented each is individually - still greater than the sum of their parts. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Definitely their best album (ATLiens is close and would be on my chart if not for this). Only weak track is "Mamacita".

Haven't listened to anything by OutKast prior to Stankonia. Maximum shame on me, but I promise I'll make amends soon.
