According to the media, today 40 years ago "Crime of the Century" came out. This album is iconic; at the time it shared with "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Turbular Bells" the will of making albums which were much more than a bunch of singles. On a recent interview, Roger Hodgson describes it as their best album, even on top of their most sold album "Breakfast in America". This is also what the majority here (me included) think if we watch Supertramp's top ranked and top rated album.
He also states that each individual song was only written by the lead voice but in some both were creditted "in a Lennon-McCartney Fashion), so for example "Hide in your Shell" (their top song in my opinion) and "Dreamer" (one of their worst songs in my opinion) were very autobiographical, and that right now he won't reunite with Rick Davies as it is "impossible to talk with him".
So, what do you guys think about this album and about Supertramp in general? You will have figured out that I find it an essential album in my collection and I find Supertramp a unique band which got to their top in this concept dramatic album.
