Second Verse, Same As The First

I hate to be picky, but the song quote at the top of the page which reads "Second verse, same as the first" should not be credited to The Ramones, but to Herman's Hermits. It comes from their version of "I'm Henry The Eighth I Am" from 1965.

Hi, thanks for pointing this out. The song snippets on BEA were mostly suggested and voted by site visitors in this thread.

We don't claim that any of the lyrics were originally written by the stated artist, however all of them are known as being 'sung' by them. We will gladly remove this quote from the site if you think it is an issue.

Not an issue. I am sure the phrase was used by somebody before Herman's Hermits too. I'm Henery the Eighth, I Am was written in 1910 and has been performed numerous times by professionals and amateurs alike. The phrase could have been used in many other contexts as well.

If one were ask most people what band they associate most with that quote, I'd be willing to bet Herman's Hermits would be the top answer by an extremely large margin. Just my two cents; I don't know if it has been changed already or not.

No, we hadn't removed it, but I think we will now since you are the second person to mention it...
