Hey guys,

I just wanted to share this, since it's quite possibly the craziest interview/music feature I've ever been part of. It's easily weirder than previous interviews I've done with Gary Wilson and Fm Cornog.

Between the bitter old musician, Bruce Cockburn hate, the setting of a Texas Arby's, it was truly a recipe for disaster

Jesus christ that was fantastically awkward. You mention that a few heads turn in the Arby's when Berlin exclaims about his eight million dollar windfall. How was the surrounding reaction to his outburst at the end of the interview?

Yeah, really really awkward, and pretty embarrassing

It was pretty empty by the time I left, so aside from the few gawk-eyed teenage employees, there wasn't much. But one big lady did say I better get my friend some help.

Damn, that is a tough interview. Good for you for getting through it and for not letting up on the questions when he was getting visibly agitated. Any idea what was going on with him? Like why he looked like death on the bathroom floor or something?

He's an addict. God knows how many pills he popped before I even got there. You know how when people black out, they can still interact with you. I'm pretty sure that was the case with him.

Yea, I had a feeling, damn, that's rough. Still though, you got a good interview out of someone who was giving you totally nothing, that's not easy

Yeah, it's pretty amazing how the worst experiences can really bring out the best in my writing.

At first I just thought he was an asshole, but he's clearly deeply depressed to the point of self-destruction.

People can be really miserable when depressed
