My personal favourite album from good ol' Bobby D. Probably his most complex in terms of composing melodies and his lyrical context really shines through. I don't think any other album of his even comes close to this. _________________

Also my favourite of his, it lagged behind a few others for years but it's gradually clawed its way to the top, some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard to be honest. _________________

It's his best folk album, no doubt; I'd still rank it third behind Blonde on Blonde and Highway 61 Revisited but it's still a stellar album and when it came out was the best non-jazz album ever made. Tracks 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 are all 5-star tracks.

My favourite of his early folk albums. Great mix of heavy, introspective and light moods. I recently added this to my decade chart after listening to it a couple weeks ago. Couldn't believe I had neglected to put it there in the first place.

as time goes on, i find i much prefer this and Bringing It All Back Home to his (slightly) more widely lauded albums. there's an energy and flow and immediacy to these that is lacking on the sometimes bloated and sometimes pretentious Highway 61 and Blonde on Blonde

I've tried and tried. And I will try and try again. But Bob Dylans music is not giving me anything.
