Though seriously, everything that could have been said about this album has been said. Already a 5-star classic and one of the greatest albums of all-time.

It's absolutely amazing and it deserves all of its acclaim. Yeah, they're a mainstream and entry-level band but they combined their instrumental brilliance with great tunes to make some of the greatest music in history. I don't think the change from OK Computer to this was as sharp as people claim it to be, though; there are only three or four electronic songs here; rather, I think it's the mood and tone that changed and showed how talented the band are at different music styles and aesthetics. My two favorite tracks are How to Disappear Completely, which is one of the most emotionally affecting and life-changing songs ever written, and Treefingers, a beautiful ambient interlude that ties the album together very well (works better than Fitter Happier) and doesn't get enough props. This and In Rainbows are my favorites of their albums and I can't choose between the two. The fact that this is below Nevermind in the overall chart is insane, to say the least.

I used to worship Radiohead and despise this album.
Now I despise Radiohead and worship this album.
Which perspective is better, guys?

I know, and I really do like Radiohead's music all-around (none of their albums I really even hate anymore, and they make really great albums for cooking). I just am tired of Radiohead's fandom that considers themselves to be so much smarter than everyone else, and treat them like the most sophisticated artists when they're basically The Beatles for Whole Foods. I like them, but will probably never again love them like I did when I was fifteen.
Anyway, this is probably my favorite album from them now. To continue the Beatles metaphor, this would be The White Album to OK Computer's Revolver or Sgt. Pepper(maybe In Rainbows is Abbey Road). Kid A seems to be the album that abstract-qualities music nerds settle on as a favorite when they get burned out on the canon, and I think it more than deserves that title.
