My '70s Favorite Albums

This is a project that I've been wanting to do for some time now.

I'm a music and statistics fanatic (I suspect I'm not the only one here at BEA ๐Ÿ˜ ) so I created a blog simply for the purpose of sharing this list, which is a mixed bag of personal opinions but also a more methodical way of electing the best '70s CDs. I hope it will both resonate with you and also provide you with some surprises!

Anyways, here is the first post, a kinda "motivation letter" for making the list. I will start publishing the final list soon.

PS:
To the Mod team, although my blog is a passion project and completely devoid of monetizing goals, please tell me if I'm breaking some rule by sharing this here. I can always just try to replicate my blog posts in the shape of forum posts here.

Interesting mix of styles and genre. Donโ€™t know magma very well but they sound interesting.

Led zep iv, absolutely. Wouldnโ€™t have rumours in my top 10 but a great album nonetheless.

A night at the opera also wouldnโ€™t be in y top 10 but I can definitely see its appeal.

Looking forward to the next post

Just wondering whether how far down the list you are going to go?

With the odd exception we tend to see albums reoccurring in the top 10 / top 20. I always find the low ranked albums, say 30 and below of more interest as the selections tend to get more varied.

Will be keeping an eye on this thread for more updates

Thank you Johnnyo and Repo for the feedback!

Regarding the size of the list, my initial idea was to do only a top 10 but so many albums I love were just barely outside those 10 that I decided to at some point show the rest of the list up to #20 or even #30.

I'm a big glam era Bowie fan, so my top 20 70s albums would be:
1- The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust
2- Hunky Dory
3- Alladin Sane
4- Rising
5- A New World Record
The bottom 15 would include Phenomenon, Hall of the Mountain Grill, Low, Station to Station, the Wall/WYWH, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road + Black Sabbath and Deep Purple discographies.
