I think its a bit early to be putting out EOY lists but American Songwriter Released theirs this morning.

Year in and Year out, they (and Paste) are my favorite reference, and it doesnt seem to be much different this year, as I share 19 albums in my top 50 with their top 50. They also have 15 albums that i have yet to listen to which is more than usual for me. Better get to work.

American Songwriter's Top 50 albums of 2015

If others want to comment on the lists or add others they find, this can be the place for it.

Usually I'm against year-end lists being published before January 1st, let alone mid-December (the norm), but this year I don't think I mind. From the point forward, unless someone follows in the steps of Beyonce or D'Angelo, there really isn't much left.

Mid-November is still a bit silly to do this, but ah well. I don't think these lists would be too much different in a month and a half's time.

American Songwriter's usually puts out an interesting list every year, so I'll check it out Smile Hoping for a few recs.

EDIT: I guess I'm going to need to listen to that Chris Stapleton album Laughing Apparently everyone else has.

I dunno, I'm still figuring out what my top ten may be (and the new Pope Francis may unironically be on it.

Yeah, I think Christmas is a good time to finish up your list, but nothing before that.

It's a race to be the first publications to release lists. The later in the action a publication releases their list, the less anyone will actually care (unless it's really good, but that takes far more work than just being first)

Anyone have any ideas as to what Pitchfork will name song of the year? Think Is The Blacker The Berry a sure runaway?

I'm still saying they'll pick In Colour for their album of the year.
