Albums are finite, sexual encounters are finite, but the desire to listen and to fuck is infinite; it surpasses our own deaths, our fears, our hopes for peace.

There is no real direction here, neither lines of power nor cooperation. Decisions are never really made – at best they manage to emerge, from a chaos of peeves, whims, hallucinations and all around assholery.

With that Stina, Biggie, and Pavement album and with the more solid singles, I went with 1994 without much thought.

Yeah those first three albums on 94 are all excellent, but after that it gets a bit more inconsistent, and the prescence of Dog Man Star is personally a big negative. Still very good team. But 93 is often terrific and quite strong all the way through, so likely leaning 93.

Nice team Gabe!

As for Dog Man Star... I love it, it's a unique album with Scott Walker, Bowie and Lou Reed references and went on to influence a lot of progressive indie rock albums later in the decade. Also, if it had been made by Bowie, it would easily sit in his top 3 albums... So there! :p
