It's hard to think of anything about an artist this big as being underrated...but this is it. Tunnel Of Love has been dismissed by fans as a weak album unworthy of his career for almost 30 years now. My feeling about this is that somebody said it long ago, and people just believed it rather than listen to the album for themselves. This came out during two imprtant periods of his life...his failed marriage to Julianne Phillips, and his separation from the E Street Band.
"Ain't Got You", "Spare Parts", "Tougher Than The Rest", "Brilliant Disguise", "All That Heaven Will Allow"...this is loaded with great tracks. This album is much better than people give it credit for. Let it grow on you...the rewards are plentiful! _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

Not the jukebox of hits monster truck of Born in the USA, Tunnel of Love is a reflective, country tinged album which in some ways reads as a parable on masculinity itself. Good listening on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
