The first copy of Absolution I owned was copied from a friend who had it all wrong. I fell in love with that version of the album and is what had me fall in love with Muse from about 2006 until about 2010. I don't have that CD anymore as I bought the original, but I remember it opened with Endlessly and actually ended on the into... it was kind of an awesome outro.

Sorry I don't have the tracklisting/can't remember it completely.

But I do agree track listing plays a big role in an album. For some it makes or breaks the album... for others the songs stand on their own so well it's kinda like putting the album on mix and it still is amazing.

I stumbled upon a great mashup of the 3 Guided By Voices albums from 2012, Class Clown Spots a UFO, Lets Go Eat the Factory and The Bears For Lunch. Extremely patchy individually, but phenomenal when stuck together.

King Arthur the Red (TBFL)
The Corners are Glowing (TBFL)
Have a Jug (TBFL)
Hangover Child (TBFL)
Class Clown Spots a UFO (CCSAU)
Chain to the Moon (CCSAU)
The Unsinkable Fats Domino (LGETF)
Starfire (CCSAU)
Jon the Croc (CCSAU)
Doughnut for a Snowman (LGETF)
The Room Taking Shape (LGETF)
The Challenge is Much More (TBFL)
Waving at Airplanes (TBFL)
The Military School Dance Dismissal (TBFL)
White Flag (TBFL)
Keep it in Motion (CCSAU)
She Lives in an Airport (TBFL)
Waking up the Stars (TBFL)

That's Hail to the Thief, not OK Computer... but I love I Will and kind of wish the album ended with it. I can't really imagine taking it out. Agree with the rest though- they would be my choice for weaker tracks on the album.

Muse's Origin of Symmetry is one of my favorite albums of all time, but one of the flaws it has is its track order. What I love about the album is how in sync everything sounds with everything else: even the slower songs like Megalomania and Screenager fit perfectly on an album with super heavy songs like Citizen Erased and New Born. But it would sound so much better if the whole thing flowed a little more. Here's how I listen to Origin:
1. New Born
2. Space Dementia
3. Citizen Erased
4. Micro Cuts
5. Hyper Music
6. Plug In Baby
7. Feeling Good
8. Bliss
9. Screenager
10. Dark Shines
11. Megalomania

In Rainbows also flows a little awkwardly at times, mostly with Bodysnatchers, probably their heaviest song, being in between the electronic "15 Step" and the really slow and relaxed "Nude", and then putting the really sudden acoustic guitars right of "Faust Arp" right after the super climactic ending of "All I Need." But then again, I really shouldn't be complaining about In Rainbows since it's my favorite album of all time.

Huh, might give that track listing a listen. it always baffled how they bunched all the really heavy ones together in the middle.

it's a great track... it just feels (along with th glmng) so Tom-York-solo-album and not so very The Radio Heads. and it's more or less SitDown.StandUp Jr.

and to the other (ElfKi//'r), I Will is great, but it was on Amnesiac (albeit reversed) and executed waaaay better. heck, the Com Lag version is better too. this incarnation is downright flaccid next to LSP and the ComLagIWill..

EDIT: whoa!! dude below me > Scatterbrain is easily the best track on the album. and mixing-my-toes-up is a pretty thrill track too. i get why some don't cnnct w/ Mixy, but what the heck you thinking leavin' Sk8'rboi off the mix? it's it 's i t ' s s s incredds.
